DIRECT MAIL- 4 Panel Roll Fold Self-Mailer with Variable Content

This project was a part of a multi-media campaign for their Annual Update mailing, along with the micro-site listed in our website projects.  A new concept/design was created to offer a fresh, new approach to this yearly project. Rather than doing the typical newsletter format, Kim developed a variable self-mailer that reduced postage costs by 50% and printing costs as well. There were 36 versions designed and written. Images were selected from hundreds that were available in the clients library. Images were selected that were dynamic and impactful. A unique PURL short code was developed to allow each person access to their personalized online site. That code had to be incorporated into the data programming. This project ran on a digital press that held 50″ rolls of paper, in order to accommodate the flat size and the need for variable, personalized content. This type of printing is very unique. The digital capability allow for addressing while it ran, eliminating a step and added costs, which was cost and time saving.

The client was very pleased with the results and presented them at a conference in Istanbul. The feedback was fantastic and the directors from around the world praised this project.
